Uses of Water - School Project

My 4th grader daughter had  submit a project work for school exhibition. The school wanted a 3-D model. We decided to make use of an old thermacol from  TV packaging  and use paper mache to give the natural effect.  The mountains were also thermacol pieces. We covered it with paper mache and applied brown color.

For animals, trees and buildings, factories and farmers we took print outs of clipart images. To give the 3-D effect we took  two prints of same image one original and the other was flipped horizontally.

Between the two print we glued the thermacol. Then we used paper cutter to make cutouts of farmer and other shapes.

For river and farm we use paper mache to create texture. The crops were colored chickpeas.
An fishes were cutouts of prints.

The result was awesome. Here is the final project

scrape book cover page

One more assignment ...this time we had to do a scrape book on any Indian Sports. We picked up Kho-Kho as its a popular game played in schools.

The write up was done and pictures were pasted.

Next was the book cover. I suggested to do the book title using quilling strip. The backcover was made using recent CWG 2010 Indian medalist picture highlighting India shining story.

Here is how it turned out.

The sport teacher liked it so much that it has been added to schools collection. :)
